Did you know that there are three types of eaters:-
Emotional eaters.
People who eat food because of emotions such as
stress, worry, loneliness, boredom, frustration, companionship,
reward, punishment or for any other emotion that is manifested in
eating foods.
Conditioned eaters.
People who eat food because of early childhood
conditioning, such as the child that was made to feel guilty if they
left anything over on their plate because people were starving in
other countries. or that child who was motivated to eat everything
on their plate in order to get the dessert.
Subconscious eaters.
People who are unaware of all the food that they are
putting into their mouths. Watching a movie and eating a whole bag
of popcorn or litre of ice cream. The person who is continuously
snacking at work at the sweet basket on the table or desk and is not
aware of how much they are eating throughout the day. A subconscious
eater is an automatic eater and is not aware of their over eating
habit.
If you recognise any of these then you are not alone.
Estimates show, that at any one time, as many as one in three of us
are currently on a diet, with over half of us having dieted at some
time in our lives.
If it's carving that you have or do not have the
willpower to say "No" then maybe your beginning to realize that
willpower is a product of the conscious mind. The conscious mind
likes to think that it's in control, when really our subconscious
mind with all of our past experiences is what is really driving our
behaviour.
That's why willpower doesn't work. It's like
thinking that using a powerful tool such as a battering ram to break
down an obstacle is all that it takes to reach the gold on the other
side.
This is all well and good, except when the obstacle
(the negative conditioning from your subconscious mind) could be
the size of the Great Wall of China!
